Thanks Kiersten for telling it how it is. I’d much rather be prepared for reality than some fairytale. I can’t wait to go to Morocco but am still considering whether to go with or without my husband and kids. (I’m still thinking I’ll go without them!)

This is all great advice! I went last fall with my husband and found that we got stared at a lot for being western (and heckled ALL the time). I had read so much about the catcalling and was prepared for it, but because I was with my husband it didn’t seem as bad. I heard from several girls I met that were traveling on their own that they faced it constantly, so it’s definitely a big difference if you travel alone (or with all girls) vs. with men.

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
