  1. Hey,

Im trying to get a group of 10 friends to go to Croatia and do the whole Ultra experience too. Approximately, how much money do you think I will need, excluding the flights and the yacht itself? I love to drink and party so even giving a high estimation would be solid.

Hi Kiersten! Great blog, awesome article. I am getting ready to leave next week for a yacht trip in Croatia, and your advice is SO helpful. I think you’ve helped me avert a ton of avoidable mistakes!

Here’s where I’m stuck: knowing myself, I could easily fulfill the cocktails+sunscreen+boat deck=broken arm quota, so taking your advice about travel insurance seems like a no-brainer. But after shopping around, I’m noticing that most (if not all?) policies have an exclusion that basically says “we will not pay for losses caused by being under the influence of drugs or intoxicants.” Like alcohol. Right? So where does that leave a girl with a broken arm and a cocktail (or 2) in her recent past? :(:(:(

Do you have any wisdom or experience to share about whether or not there are travel insurance policies without this exclusion — or that at least are more tolerant of normal travel/vacation behaviors, like drinking?

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
