You should be careful with ‘wine and cheese’ on board a German train. There’s actually a no alcohol rule in almost all of them.

edit: to be precise and avoid misunderstandings. The Deutsche Bahn does allow alcohol but not strongly intoxicated passengers while privately owned railways (metronom, rheinbahn, erixx) don’t allow any form of alcohol on their trains. Be aware though that there’s a no alcohol rule in some central train stations (munich, nürnberg, hannover etc.)
Btw, on the first sign of (light) snow Germans start to wonder if the Deutsche Bahn trains will keep going as usual. Also very common are train delays and cancellations due to heavy storms, usually in spring and autumn because there are a lot of forests/trees along the railways. So it’s the same as for airplanes and therefore not the strongest argument in your post.

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
